Bhopal, India (Rail & Metro Today): EFKON India Private Limited has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for Package IN-10 of the Indore Metro project, with a financial bid of ₹288.11 crore. The financial bids were evaluated on 14 October 2026 by Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MPMRCL). The contract award is still pending.
The package covers the design verification, detailed engineering, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of key electrical and mechanical systems for Indore Metro stations. It also includes diesel generator (DG) sets and building management systems (BMS), which are essential for station operations, power backup, equipment monitoring and efficient facility management.
EFKON India secured the L1 position with a bid of ₹288.11 crore, narrowly ahead of JAKSON Group, which submitted the second-lowest bid of ₹291.58 crore.
Universal MEP Projects & Engineering Services Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Voltas Limited, ranked third with a bid of ₹331.09 crore. Tata Projects placed fourth with a bid of ₹337.45 crore.
The difference between the lowest and second-lowest bids is ₹3.47 crore. However, being declared L1 does not automatically mean that the contract has been awarded. MPMRCL will need to complete the applicable evaluation and approval formalities before issuing the award.
Electrical and mechanical systems form an important part of metro station infrastructure. These systems support power distribution, ventilation and other building services, while DG sets provide backup power during interruptions. Building management systems help monitor and control essential station facilities.
The successful execution of Package IN-10 will therefore be important for ensuring the operational readiness, reliability and maintainability of the stations covered under the contract.
The next key milestone for Package IN-10 will be the formal contract award. Until then, EFKON India remains the L1 bidder, with the final outcome subject to MPMRCL’s prescribed procedures.
