Patna, India (Metro Rail Today): The engineers of YFC Projects launched the very first 70T Precast Pier Cap for the Corridor 1 of Patna Metro Rail Project on 15th May 2023 at the proposed Mithapur Metro Station. The of length of this Pier Cap is 10.098 meter and it was placed at Pier/Pillar Number 115 at Viaduct located near Mithapur Metro station.
This work is part of about 8 km civil contract package DC-04 of Patna Metro Rail Project that was awarded to a joint venture of YFC Projects Pvt Ltd and Montecarlo Limited (MCL) in December 2021 by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. The scope of work includes Design and Construction of Elevated Viaduct, elevated ramp at Mithapur & Patliputra and seven stations viz Danapur, Saguna More, RPS More, Patliputra, Mithapur, Ramkrishna Nagar & Jaganpura Station (Excluding Architectural Finishing & PEB works) in Corridor-1 of Patna Metro Phase 1. The total value of contract is Rs 553.5 crore.
The Corridor 1 has a total of 14 stations mix of elevated and underground. Danapur Cantonment, Saguna More, RPS More, Patliputra, Mithapur, Ramkrishna Nagar & Jaganpura are elevated stations and Rukanpura, Raja Bazar, Patna Zoo, Vikas Bhawan, Vidyut Bhawan, Patna Station are Underground stations of Corridor -I with and an interchange at Patna Station and Khemni Chak stations.
The Pier-Cap is precasted at casting yard and with the help crane it launched on the Pier. After which U-Girders will be launched between two Pier caps on which the Metro track will be eventually be laid.
The Patna Metro Rail Project Phase 1 is being financed by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) through a loan agreement of Rs ₹5,509 crore (US$690 million) signed with Govt. of India in April 2023. The overall estimated cost of Patna Metro Rail Project Phase 1 is Rs ₹13,365.77 crore (US$1.7 billion).
