Bengaluru, India (Metro Rail Today): The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has received a total for five bids against tender notice issued for the construction of Metro carshed-cum-workshop at Challaghatta for Bangalore Metro Rail Project, Phase 2.
As per information shared by BMRCL after opening of the technical bids, the following firms/consortia have submitted their bids for the construction of Challaghatta Depot:
Tender notice for the construction of Depot cum Workshop at Challaghatta in Reach-2 Extension of Bangalore Metro Rail Project was issued in January 2022 with an estimated value of work of Rs. 517.44 crore and 24 months deadline. Technical bids were opened on February 28, 2022.
The Challaghatta depot will be built at ground level on a portion of a 40 acre land parcel abutting Mysore Road at the southern-end of Reach 2B of Bangalore Metro. STUP Consultants Pvt. Ltd. will provide Detailed Design Consultancy (DDC) services for the Challaghatta depot.
The depot in West Bengaluru is of crucial importance as all trains of the Baiyappanahalli-Kengeri Line (that would be later extended till Challaghatta) will be stabled and maintained here when ready.
