Foundation stone laid for Jaipur Metro Phase 1 Extension from Badi Choupar to Transport Nagar

Jaipur, India (Metro Rail Today): In a significant stride towards enhancing public transportation in Pink City, the foundation stone for the Jaipur Metro Line 1C extension from Badi Choupar to Transport Nagar was laid today. This expansion, covering approximately 3.5 kilometers to Transport Nagar and an additional 1.5 kilometers under Line 1D to Ajmer Road, promises to bring improved connectivity to various parts of Jaipur.

The Jaipur Metro, already covering an 11.5-kilometer stretch between Badi Choupar and Mansarovar, is poised for a considerable extension. The Line 1C extension will elongate metro services by around 3.5 kilometers to Transport Nagar, while the Line 1D extension will further add 1.5 kilometers to Ajmer Road. In total, the Line 1 network is set to span just under 17 kilometers, connecting Transport Nagar and 200-feet Bypass Road.

The ambitious project has enlisted the expertise of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) as the turnkey contractor for seamless execution. The DMRC's proven track record in delivering metro projects across the country positions them as a reliable partner for Jaipur's metro expansion.

With the construction already underway, the Urban Development and Housing (UDH) department officials have initiated utility diversions, involving the repositioning of pipelines from various government and private agencies to pave the way for the tunnel. The upcoming months will witness the commencement of tunnel excavation, extending from the Badi Choupar Metro station to a few meters away from Ramganj Bazaar.

According to UDH officials, the tunnel will seamlessly transition into an elevated stretch, reaching the Transport Nagar Metro station. This multi-phase construction strategy aims to minimize disruptions and ensure the smooth progress of the metro expansion project.
