Mumbai, India (Metro Rail Today): Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL) has entered into a strategic partnership with Aarvee Engineering Consultants Limited (AECL) to jointly pursue railway, metro, and infrastructure projects in India and overseas. The collaboration is expected to strengthen technical capabilities, enhance consultancy services, and deliver high-quality infrastructure solutions across diverse markets.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed at KRCL’s Corporate Office in CBD Belapur, Navi Mumbai, marking an important milestone in expanding collaboration between project execution and engineering consultancy expertise. The agreement was signed by Shri Puskar Shrivatsava, Chief Engineer (Projects), KRCL, and Shri Madhira Sriram, Associate Vice President, AECL.
The signing ceremony was attended by senior leadership from both organizations, including Shri Santosh Kumar Jha, Chairman & Managing Director of KRCL, Shri Rajesh Badang, Director Finance, KRCL, Shri Rajeev Kumar Mishra, Director (Way & Works), KRCL, and Shri A. K. Shrivatsava, Vice President, AECL, along with other senior officials.
The collaboration aims to combine KRCL’s strong project execution capabilities with AECL’s multi-disciplinary consultancy expertise to jointly bid for and execute major railway, metro, and infrastructure projects. By integrating their strengths, both organizations plan to deliver comprehensive solutions that cover project planning, engineering design, consultancy, and implementation.
Konkan Railway has earned a reputation for successfully executing technically complex projects, particularly in challenging terrains and difficult geographies. Since its inception, KRCL has been known for engineering achievements along the scenic yet challenging Konkan coast, and its experience continues to play a vital role in advancing India’s railway infrastructure capabilities.
AECL, on the other hand, is a well-established engineering consultancy firm offering specialized services in project planning, design, and advisory across transportation and infrastructure sectors. The company has contributed to numerous national and international infrastructure projects through its technical and advisory expertise.
Commenting on the significance of such collaborations in India’s infrastructure growth, Mrs. Mamta Shah, MD & CEO, Urban Infra Group, said, “Strategic partnerships between infrastructure developers and engineering consultancies are essential for delivering large-scale, technically advanced projects. Collaborations like the KRCL–AECL alliance will help accelerate innovation, improve project efficiency, and support the development of modern rail and metro systems in India and beyond.”
The partnership also reflects a broader vision to expand Indian infrastructure expertise into global markets. By leveraging combined technical strengths, KRCL and AECL aim to compete more effectively for international infrastructure projects and build a stronger presence in emerging markets.
Such collaborations are increasingly important as countries around the world invest heavily in rail-based urban mobility and sustainable transport infrastructure. The joint initiative is expected to facilitate faster project delivery, improved operational efficiency, and optimized project costs.
The KRCL–AECL collaboration represents a forward-looking step toward strengthening India’s infrastructure ecosystem while exploring new opportunities in global markets. By aligning execution strength with technical consultancy, both organizations are well positioned to deliver innovative, sustainable, and high-impact infrastructure projects.
As India continues to expand its railway and metro networks while promoting infrastructure exports, such strategic alliances are expected to play a crucial role in shaping the future of modern transportation systems both within the country and internationally.
