New Delhi, India (Rail & Metro Today): The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has announced 90 vacancies across operations, maintenance, information technology, engineering and other specialised functions as it strengthens its workforce for the Namo Bharat regional rail network and associated projects in the National Capital Region (NCR).
The recruitment has been notified through two separate vacancy notices issued on September 10, 2026. Vacancy Notice No. 32/2026 provides for 67 positions in Operations and Maintenance on a direct recruitment basis, while Vacancy Notice No. 33/2026 covers 23 positions for supervisors and non-supervisors on a contract basis with regular pay scales. NCRTC is a joint venture of the Government of India and the participating governments of Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh under the administrative control of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. The corporation is responsible for implementing the Namo Bharat project in the NCR, with the first-phase corridors envisaged as Delhi–Meerut, Delhi–SNB–Alwar and Delhi–Panipat–Karnal. NCRTC states that the Delhi–Meerut Namo Bharat corridor has now been fully opened for commercial revenue operations.

The vacancies include Supervisor-I positions in Operations, Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical and Civil disciplines, along with Junior Maintainer positions in Electrical, Fitter, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning (RAC), and Electronics.
The largest vacancy is for Supervisor-I (Electronics), with 18 positions, followed by Supervisor-I (Electrical) with 14 positions. Through Vacancy Notice No. 33/2026, NCRTC has announced another 23 positions on contract basis with regular pay scales.
The vacancies cover a wider range of functions, reflecting the multidisciplinary workforce required for the operation and development of a technology-intensive regional rail system. The Corporate Communications position requires graduation along with a postgraduate degree or postgraduate diploma in Mass Communication, Public Relations or an equivalent discipline. Engineering positions require relevant three-year diplomas, while Junior Maintainer posts require ITI qualifications in the prescribed trades. The maximum age for all these posts is also 28 years as on September 10, 2026.
For both recruitment notices, Supervisor-I positions carry the S1 pay scale of ₹37,000–₹1,15,000, with an initial basic pay of ₹37,000. Candidates selected through the direct recruitment process will undergo a two-year probation period. They will also be required to execute a surety bond. For Supervisor posts under the direct recruitment notice, the bond amount is ₹4 lakh with a minimum service period of three years, while the bond for non-supervisor posts is ₹3 lakh for the same minimum service period.
For the contract recruitment, the appointment will be for five years from the date of appointment. NCRTC has specifically stated that these positions are purely contractual and that employment will not confer any right to regularisation. The surety bond is ₹4 lakh for supervisors and ₹3 lakh for non-supervisors, with a minimum service requirement of three years.
The selection methodology for both recruitment drives comprises a Computer Based Test followed by a medical fitness test. The CBT will consist of 100 questions carrying 100 marks and will have a duration of 90 minutes. Each correct answer carries one mark, while there is no negative marking for incorrect answers.
The minimum qualifying percentage is 60% for candidates in the UR, OBC (NCL) and EWS categories and 50% for SC, ST, PwBD and Ex-Servicemen candidates. Final selection will be made on the basis of merit, subject to the number of positions, applicable ratios and relative performance in the respective categories. Candidates can take the CBT in either Hindi or English.
NCRTC has provided a wide choice of examination cities, including Delhi-NCR, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kanpur, Agra, Vadodara, Indore, Thane, Pune, Guwahati, Jaipur and Patiala, among others. Candidates are required to indicate their preference for five cities while submitting the online application.
Medical standards vary according to the position. Under the direct recruitment notice, Supervisor-I posts require A-3 medical standards, while Junior Maintainer posts require B-1 standards. Under the contract recruitment notice, C-1 standards apply to IT, hospitality and communications supervisor posts, A-3 to Electrical and Civil supervisors, and B-1 to Junior Maintainers.
Eligible candidates can apply online only through the official NCRTC website, www.ncrtc.in. No hard copies of uploaded documents are required. Applicants need a valid personal email address and mobile number, which must remain active throughout the recruitment process.
The application requires uploading a recent passport-size colour photograph, scanned signature and relevant category, educational and other certificates in the prescribed formats and file sizes. Registration alone does not constitute a valid application; the prescribed application fee must be successfully paid.
Candidates belonging to the UR, OBC (NCL), EWS and Ex-Servicemen categories are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of ₹500, excluding applicable transaction charges and GST. Candidates belonging to SC, ST and PwBD categories are exempt from the application fee. Candidates applying for more than one post are required to pay the applicable fee separately for each post.
The same fee structure and online application process apply to Vacancy Notice No. 33/2026. NCRTC has advised candidates to complete their applications at least two days before the closing date to avoid transaction-related issues.
The recruitment drive comes as NCRTC continues to build the workforce required for operating and maintaining a growing regional rapid transit system. The vacancy notices underline the need for expertise across engineering, train operations, maintenance, information technology, automated fare collection, communications, hospitality and other specialised functions.
“The expansion of modern rail-based mobility systems requires not only advanced infrastructure and rolling stock but also a skilled workforce capable of operating, maintaining and continuously improving these systems. NCRTC’s recruitment across technical, operational, digital and communication functions reflects the increasingly multidisciplinary nature of India’s modern urban and regional rail sector,” said Mrs. Mamta Shah, MD & CEO, Urban Infra Group.
The notices also highlight NCRTC’s emphasis on training. Selected candidates will undergo intensive on-the-job training for the prescribed duration before being posted to their respective jobs. NCRTC may increase or reduce the training period depending on operational requirements.
For candidates considering the recruitment, NCRTC has advised them to carefully check the detailed eligibility conditions before submitting applications. The corporation will verify eligibility against original documents, and candidature remains provisional until the required verification and medical requirements are completed.
With applications open until October 9, 2026, the two notifications provide opportunities for engineering diploma holders, ITI-qualified candidates, IT professionals, communication and hospitality graduates, and other eligible technical personnel to join NCRTC's workforce. The recruitment process is expected to progress through CBTs tentatively scheduled for November/December 2026, followed by the prescribed medical fitness tests and subsequent selection formalities.
