Siemens wins Telecom Contract worth ₹198 crore for Nagpur Metro Phase 2 Project

In the bidding process, two companies—Siemens Ltd. and Larsen & Toubro Technology Services Ltd.—were shortlisted after technical bids were opened in September 2024. The financial bids were opened later, revealing the following offers:

• L&T Technology Services Ltd.: ₹204.93 crore

With Siemens submitting the lowest bid, the company has been awarded the contract, subject to any final approvals or evaluations from Maha Metro.

Phase 2 of Nagpur Metro: An Overview

Nagpur Metro Phase 2 will be a 43.8 km extension of the city’s metro network, connecting key areas of the city and significantly improving public transportation options. The telecom infrastructure is a critical element of this expansion, supporting safe and efficient operations.

One such ongoing tender, Package C-09, involves the construction of 8 elevated metro stations along Reach-1A, which spans key locations such as Ashokvan, Dongargaon, Mohgaon, Meghdoot, CIDCO Butibori Police Station, MHADA Colony, MIDC KEC, and MIDC ESR.

As per recent reports, MMRCL opened the technical bids for Package C-09 today, and it seems there was only one bidder for this civil contract. Further updates on this package are expected soon.
