Mumbai, India (Metro Rail Today): The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has issued a global tender notice for procurement of 108 standard gauge coaches (18 trains with 6-coach) for Mumbai Metro Line 6 connecting Swami Samarth Nagar (Lokhandwala) to Vikhroli with 13 elevated stations.
The scope of work includes Design, Manufacture, Supply, Testing, Commissioning and Training of 108 nos. of Standard Gauge Cars including training for for Metro line 6 [Swami Samarth Nagar – Vikhroli (EEH)] of Mumbai Mero Rail Project.
Tender notice for the above work is issued on 10th June 2023 with an estimated cost of work is Rs 989.87 crore. The tentative delivery period is fixed to 3 years from the date of issuance of letter of acceptance to the contractor by MMRDA.
The closing date of submission of bids is 13th July 2023 till 03.00PM and technical bids will be opened on 14th July 2023 at 03.00PM.
This contract package will be funded by New Development Bank (NDB) through a US$241 million loan approved in 2020.
MMRDA through Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Ltd (MMMOCL) will operate a total of 18 metro trains with 6-coach on Mumbai Metro's Line 6. The trains will be stabled and maintained at Kanjurmarg Train Maintenance Depot, located on a 15 hectare land parcel on the eastern-end of the line.
Tender notice for supply of signaling and train control, telecommunication and platform screen doors system for this line is already issued in May 2023 (Package CA-132).
