Texmaco Rail commences track laying works for Delhi Metro's Magenta Line Extension

New Delhi, India (Metro Rail Today): The engineers of Texmaco Rail & Engineering Limited commenced the track laying process for the Magenta Line Extension, covering the 28.92 km stretch from Janakpuri West to RK Ashram. This line is part of Delhi Metro Phase 4 Project. The track installation, spanning from chainage 2814.677m to 30061.24m, marks a significant step in enhancing the capital's metro connectivity.

The installation of standard gauge rails (1435 mm) from Package DT-08 of the Delhi Metro Phase 4 project is being undertaken by Texmaco. This initiative encompasses laying tracks along the viaducts of elevated packages DC-01A (Keshopur – Mangolpuri), DC-01 (Mangolpuri – Haiderpur-Badli Mor), DC-03R (Haiderpur-Badli Mor – Derawal Nagar), as well as inside the twin tunnels of underground package DC-05 (Derawal Nagar – RK Ashram).

Texmaco Rail & Engineering Limited secured the contract for Package DT-08, valued at ₹117.08 crore, in January 2024. The company emerged as the lowest bidder among four contenders in December 2023, as per the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).

In a separate development, track-work operations within the Magenta Line's 2.03 km underground Package DC-06, connecting Janakpuri West to Krishna Park Extension, commenced earlier under the auspices of Paras Railtech. This section, excluded from DT-08's scope, represents approximately 92% of the Magenta Line's new trajectory.

The initiative underscores DMRC's commitment to expanding and enhancing Delhi Metro Rail Network, facilitating smoother and more efficient transportation for residents and commuters alike.
