Two major contracts signed with Japanese agencies for Mumbai-Ahmedabad HSR Project

New Delhi, India (Metro Rail Today): To speed up the work of first bullet train project of India, the National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) has recently signed two very important contracts with the japanses agencies.

First, one contract was signed with JIC Consortium consisting of Japan International Consultants for Transportation Co., Nippon Koei Co. Ltd. and Oriental Consultants Global Co. Ltd. for providing Consultancy Services for Track, Rolling Stock, Sabarmati Depot, and inspection & Maintenance Cars Packages for Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor project on 31st August 2022.

In this contract, more than 65 Japanese Shinkansen experts of track & Rolling stock will be involved in the supervision of track and rolling stock work that will help Indian engineers to understand the Japanese Shinkansen system through the Transfer of Technology, said the official statement issued by NHSRCL.

The second contract was signed with HK Consortium for a preliminary survey regarding Rolling Stock and General Inspection Train for 508-km Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor project on 1st September 2022.

Earlier on 23rd August, 2022, NHSRCL signed a contract with Mitsubishi Precision Company Limited, Japan for the design, manufacturing, supply and commissioning of Training Simulators of High Speed train that are to be used for training purposes in High Speed Rail Training Institute in Vadodara, Gujarat.

The 508-km Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor will connect Mumbai to Ahmedabad with 12 HSR stations. 100 percent civil contract already awarded for the construction of bullet train corridor in Gujarat state.
