Vossloh Cogifer signs Turnouts Supply Contract for Bangalore Metro Phase 2

Bengaluru, India (Metro Rail Today): The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has taken a significant step towards enhancing its infrastructure by establishing a partnership with M/s Vossloh Cogifer Turnouts India Pvt. Ltd. This collaboration is poised to play a pivotal role in the development of Phase-2A and 2B of the Bangalore Metro Rail Project, with a focus on designing, manufacturing, and supplying turnouts.

The contract, identified by the tender number BMRCL/Phase-2A & 2B/Turnouts/2023/101, entails the design, manufacturing, and supply of standard gauge UIC 60 Turnouts for Phase-2A and 2B of the Bangalore Metro Rail Project. The completion period for the contract is set at 24 months, with an awarded value of ₹29,97,99,783/-.

BMRCL is entrusted with the responsibility of implementing the Bangalore Metro Rail project. Phase-1 of the project, currently operational, spans 42.3 km with 40 stations, including the East-West Corridor covering 18.2 km and the North-South Corridor spanning 24.1 km. The underground section, totaling 8.80 km, features seven stations, including the interchange station at Majestic.

Moving forward, Phase-2 of the Bangalore Metro Rail Project comprises extensions to existing lines and introduces two new lines, covering a total of 72.095 km with 61 stations (49 elevated and 12 underground).

The strategic partnership with Vossloh Cogifer Turnouts India Pvt. Ltd. underscores BMRCL’s commitment to deploying cutting-edge technology and infrastructure in its expansion endeavors.
