Pittsburgh, United States (Metro Rail Today): Wabtec Corporation has completed the acquisition of Dellner Couplers, a Sweden-based global leader in safety-critical train connection systems and services for passenger rail rolling stock. The strategic acquisition enhances Wabtec’s Transit business by adding complementary technologies and expanding its portfolio of mission-critical passenger rail solutions.
The transaction strengthens Wabtec’s capabilities in highly engineered coupler and gangway systems, positioning the company for accelerated and profitable growth in the passenger rail segment.

Dellner Couplers brings an 85-year legacy of innovation in train connection systems and has established itself as an industry leader in manufacturing and servicing couplers for the transit rail market. The company has a global installed base of approximately 100,000 couplers and 12,500 gangways. With production, assembly, and aftermarket service facilities in 13 countries, Dellner serves more than 200 customers worldwide.

Dellner Couplers employs over 1,200 people across 17 offices globally and works closely with major rolling stock OEMs, rail operators, and independent maintenance and repair providers. The acquisition is expected to enhance Wabtec’s ability to deliver integrated solutions that improve operational efficiency, safety, and lifecycle performance for passenger rail systems.
