China achieves 162,000 kilometers railway operating mileage by end of 2024

In line with its projected goals, China Railway anticipates that in 2025, the national railway system will transport 4.28 billion passengers, reflecting a 4.9% increase in demand. In 2024 alone, China commissioned 3,113 kilometers of new railway lines, including 2,457 kilometers of high-speed rail lines.
