7 firms bid for Electrification contract of Corridor 4 of Chennai Metro Rail Project

New Delhi, India (Metro Rail Today): Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has recently opened the technical bids for the electrification contract package floated for Corridor 4 of Chennai Metro Rail Project, Phase 2. As per the information shared, the CMRL has received a total of seven bids from the following bidders:-

  • KEC International Ltd.
  • Larsen & Toubro Ltd.
  • IRCON International Ltd.
  • Alstom Transport India Ltd.
  • Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd.
  • Linxon India Private Ltd.
  • Siemens Ltd.

The scope of work includes design, manufacturing, supply, installation, testing, training and commissioning of RSS, ASS, SCADA, OHE and switching stations for corridor 4 (Poonamallee Bypass - Lighthouse), including Depot at Poonamallee of Phase 2 of Chennai Metro Rail Project.

Tender notice for the above work was invited in August 2021 with a 1600 day (4.4 year) completion deadline and technical bids were opened on February 22, 2022.

The 26.09 km long Corridor 4 of Chennai Metro will connect Light House to Poonamallee Bypass through 30 metro stations.
