Jupiter Wagons Limited forms New Subsidiary to expand Railway Mobility Business

Kolkata, India (Rail & Metro Today): Jupiter Wagons Limited has incorporated a new subsidiary, Jupiter Rail Mobility Private Limited (CIN: U32900WB2026PTC289450), as part of its continued expansion in the railway and engineering sector. The company is incorporated with Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MC) on 3rd September 2026 at Registrar of Companies(ROC), Kolkata, West Bengal. The company has 2 directors/key management personnel Rajiv Kumar Tulsyan and Sudip Kumar Haldar. The newly established company is expected to provide the group with a dedicated corporate platform for future activities and opportunities in railway mobility and engineering.

Jupiter Wagons holds a 99.9% stake in Jupiter Rail Mobility Private Limited, keeping the new entity closely aligned with the parent company's broader business strategy. The subsidiary has been incorporated with an authorised share capital of Rs. 15 lakh and paid-up share capital of Rs. 1 lakh.

The incorporation represents another organisational development for Jupiter Wagons as the company continues to strengthen its presence across India's expanding railway and mobility ecosystem.

New Platform for Railway and Engineering Activities

Jupiter Rail Mobility Private Limited has been incorporated under the railway and engineering industry category. As a newly formed subsidiary, the company is currently at an initial stage and its operational activities have not yet commenced.

The creation of a separate subsidiary gives Jupiter Wagons an additional corporate structure through which it can potentially undertake future business activities, projects and initiatives associated with railway mobility and engineering.

At present, there is no reported turnover from JRMPL as the company has only recently been incorporated and has yet to begin its operating activities.

“The creation of dedicated business entities can provide established railway companies with greater flexibility to pursue emerging opportunities across a rapidly evolving mobility ecosystem. As railways increasingly require specialised manufacturing, engineering, mobility and technology capabilities, such corporate structures can support focused business development while remaining aligned with the broader strategy of the parent organisation,” said Mrs. Mamta Shah, MD & CEO, Urban Infra Group.

Jupiter Wagons Strengthens Railway Presence

Jupiter Wagons has an established presence in India's railway manufacturing and mobility sector. The company operates across areas associated with railway rolling stock, components and mobility solutions and has been expanding its business activities alongside the growth of India's railway infrastructure.

The formation of Jupiter Rail Mobility adds another entity to this wider business ecosystem. While the subsidiary's specific projects and operating plans have not yet been disclosed, its incorporation provides Jupiter Wagons with a dedicated platform that could be used for future initiatives in the railway and engineering domain.

India's railway sector is undergoing significant investment and modernisation, with demand increasing for rolling stock, railway components, freight mobility solutions, passenger transportation systems and associated engineering capabilities. The expansion of dedicated business platforms by established industry players reflects the growing breadth of opportunities across the railway value chain.

Initial Capital Structure

Jupiter Rail Mobility Private Limited has been incorporated with an authorised share capital of Rs. 15 lakh, while its paid-up share capital stands at Rs. 1 lakh. Jupiter Wagons' 99.9% ownership gives the parent company a controlling interest in the new subsidiary.

The initial capital structure provides the financial and corporate foundation for JRMPL as it moves towards commencing its business activities. Further details regarding investment, projects, partnerships or commercial operations are expected to emerge as the subsidiary develops its business plans.

For Jupiter Wagons, the move adds another layer to its corporate structure at a time when India's railway sector is witnessing continued investment in infrastructure modernisation, capacity expansion and new mobility solutions.

The incorporation of Jupiter Rail Mobility Private Limited therefore marks an early but potentially significant step in Jupiter Wagons' ongoing railway and engineering expansion. While JRMPL has yet to commence operations, its establishment creates a dedicated platform through which the company can pursue future opportunities and strengthen its participation in India's evolving railway mobility industry.
