Alstom secures ₹220 crore signalling contract for Silver Line of Delhi Metro Phase 4

New Delhi, India (Metro Rail Today): French multinational rolling stock leader, Alstom Transport has been awarded a contract worth Rs 219.59 crore by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) for the supply of train-control and signaling solutions for Silver Line of Delhi Metro Rail Project Phase 4 on 20th February 2023.

The scope of work includes Design, Manufacture, Supply, Installation, Testing & Commissioning of Train control & Signalling System for Silver Line (Aerocity to Tuglakabad Corridor) of Phase-IV of Delhi Metro Rail Project. The total length of newly under-construction corridor is 23.622 kilometres. 

Tender notice for the above work was issued udner contract package DC-06 of Delhi Metro Phase 4 in February 2022 with a 4 year work completion deadline. Technical bid was opened in August 2022 where Alstom was single bidder for this contract package. Financial bid was opened in November 2022. After multi round negotiations with DMRC, Alstom finally agreed to complete this work in a combined value of Rs 219.59 crores (INR 160,34,85,792 + Euro 5,924,631 + USD 1,168,446).

In October 2022, DMRC had awarded a contract worth Rs 2,631.36 crore (Package RS17) to Alstom for Design, Manufacture, Supply, Testing, Commissioning, Training of 78 Nos. of Standard Gauge Cars Including Comprehensive Maintenance up to Fifteen Years for These 54 Nos. Standard Gauge Cars for Aerocity – Tughlakabad Corridor (Silver Line) of Phase 4 of Delhi Metro Rail Project. This order also includes Design, Manufacture, Supply, Testing, Commissioning, Training of 234 numbers additional Standard Gauge Cars for Extended Sections of Line 7 (Pink) & 8 (Magenta) of Delhi Metro Phase 4.

The 23.622 km Silver Line will connect Delhi Aerocity to Tuglakabad with 16 stations.
