New Delhi, India (Metro Rail Today): In a strategic move to enhance the operational efficiency of Indian Railways, the Ministry of Railways, Government of India, has appointed Shri Braj Mohan Agrawal, an esteemed officer from the Indian Railway Management Service (IRMS), as the new Member (Traction & Rolling Stock) of the Railway Board.
Shri Agrawal brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this pivotal role. A graduate of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, he furthered his education at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore, equipping him with a robust technical and managerial foundation. Since joining the Indian Railways in 1986 as part of the IRSME exam batch, Shri Agrawal has carved out a distinguished career marked by significant contributions to various facets of railway operations.
Before his recent appointment, Shri Agrawal served as the Director General (Safety) at the Railway Board, where he was responsible for overseeing safety protocols and initiatives that are critical to maintaining the integrity of railway operations. His leadership in this role has been instrumental in fostering a culture of safety and compliance across the vast railway network.
His previous positions also include serving as the Chief Workshop Engineer for Central Railway and as the Divisional Railway Manager at Khurda Road, East Coast Railway. In these roles, Shri Agrawal showcased his engineering acumen and managerial skills, driving improvements in operational efficiency and maintenance processes.
As Member (Traction & Rolling Stock), Shri Agrawal will play a crucial role in the ongoing modernization efforts of Indian Railways. His extensive expertise in engineering and safety is expected to contribute significantly to the development and implementation of advanced traction systems and rolling stock technologies, ultimately enhancing the reliability and performance of rail services.
