Dilip Buildcon awarded ₹723.45 crore civil contract for Ahmedabad Metro Phase 2

Ahmedabad, India (Metro Rail Today): The Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation Limited (GMRC) has awarded a civil contract worth Rs 723.45 crore to Dilip Buildcon Ltd for construction of a 7.5 km elevated stretch between Sector-1 and Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar for Phase 2 of Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project on 2nd March 2023.

The scope of work under the contract package C-3 includes design & construction of 7.553 kms elevated viaduct and 7 nos. of stations (incl. E&M, Architectural Finishing, Roofing, Plumbing, Signage, etc.) from Sector-1 to Mahatma Mandir (ch. 31945.443m to 39498.302m, Package C3) in connection with Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project, Phase-2. A total of seven metro stations will be built at Sachivalaya, Akshardham, Juna Sachivalaya, Sector-16, Sector-24 and Mahatma Mandir.

Tender notice for the above works was issued in February 2022 with an estimated cost of Rs 610 crore and 30 month deadline. Technical bids were opened in May 2022 where the names of total 10 bidders were revealed. Finacial bids were opened on 29th September 2022 where Dilip Buildcon Ltd emerged as lowest bidder (L1) by beating four other participants JMC Projects (India) Ltd, Kalthia E&C – Ashoka Buildcon Ltd JV, Ranjit Buildcon Ltd and GR Infraprojects Ltd.

The work completion period of this contract package is set to 24 months.

This contract package is part of 28.254 km Phase 2 corridors of Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project and it will be financed by Agence Française de Développement (AFD).
