Nagpur, India (Metro Rail Today): An officer of 1988-batch Indian Administartive Services (IAS) from Maharashtra cadre, Dr. Nitin N Kareer appointed as new Managing Director of Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (Maha Metro). Dr. Kareer is also holding additional chief secretary post and charge of finance department in Government of Maharashtra.
Dr. Kareer takes charge of new Managing Director of Maha Metro after superannuation of Dr. Brijesh Dixit who was leading the projects since its inception.
Earlier, Kareer worked as a Municipal Commissioner in Pune Municipal Corporation. He will now lead the two major projects - Nagpur Metro and Pune Metro till the appointment of new Managing Director of Maha Metro.
