New Delhi, India (Metro Rail Today): The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC), which was appointed as implementing agency for 3.08 km underground Automated People Mover to connect offices under Central Vista project, opened the technical bids for the consultancy contract package DCCD-04.
As per the information shared a total of four consultancy firms namely Consulting Engineers Group Ltd., SYSTRA MVA Consulting (India), Ayesa India and Egis India Consulting Engineers have submitted their bids for providing detailed design consultancy services for Civil, Architectural and Building Services including E&M works for proposed underground Automatic People Mover (APM) system at Central Vista, New Delhi, India.
Tender for the above work was issued in May 2022. Now all bids have been sent for technical evaluation. Once the evaluation completed, DMRC will open the financial bids to select the consultancy firm.
In February 2022, the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) had appointed Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to prepare detailed project report (DPR) for the proposed 3.08 km Automated People Mover (underground metro loop) for the underconstruction Central Vista project of Govt. of India. An MoU was signed between CPWD and DMRC on 28th February 2022.
An automated people mover (APM) is a type of small-scale automated guideway transit system.
According to DMRC, the APM is a metro loop corridor, about three kilometres in length, connecting four Common Central Secretariat stations with the existing Central Secretariat Metro station is being proposed to cater to the office goers who shall travel to these offices using the Metro. Planning is being done expecting a peak hour demand of 20,000 passengers per hour during the morning and evening peak hours. The entire corridor shall be underground.
