JSPL bids for Track Rail Supply Contract for Bhopal and Indore Metro Rail Projects

Bhopal, India (Metro Rail Today): Jindal Steel & Power Limited (JSPL) is the only bidder that submitted its bid for the supply of UIC 60 E1 Profile 880 Grade Rails Class A 1305 MT for Bhopal and 1260 MT for Indore for Bhopal Metro Rail Project and Indore Metro Rail Projects.

Tender notice for the above work was invited under contract package BHIN03A in February 2022 with 728 days deadline by the Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (MPMRCL). The technical bid was opened on July 1, 2022.

Here are project-wise track rail requirements and the supply deadlines:

Bhopal Metro Rail Project

• Total Requirement: 1305 MT
• Supply of 500 MT (Lot No.2.1.1): 15-20 weeks
• Supply of 400 MT (Lot No.2.1.2): 56-60 weeks
• Supply of 405 MT (Lot No.2.1.3): 100-104 weeks

Indore Metro Rail Project

• Total Requirement: 1260 MT
• Supply of 500 MT (Lot No.2.2.1): 15-20 weeks
• Supply of 400 MT (Lot No.2.2.2): 56-60 weeks
• Supply of 360 MT (Lot No.2.2.3): 100-104 weeks

In June 2022, MPMRCL received only 2 bids from Voestalpine VAE VKN India and Vossloh Cogifer for the supply of turnouts (contract package BHIN03C) for Bhopal and Indore Metro Rail Projects.

The Madhya Pradesh Government is planning to open at least one section of the Bhopal Metro Rail project before the assembly elections in the state which are scheduled for next year.
