Mumbai, India (Metro Rail Today): The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has issued a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) to the joint venture of Landmark Corporation and Neev Construction for the architectural finishing works of seven elevated stations on Mumbai Metro Line 2B. The LoA was formally issued on 29 October 2025, marking another key milestone in advancing station readiness on the corridor.
Mumbai Metro Line 2B spans 23.643 km between D.N. Nagar and Mandale, comprising 20 stations, and is a critical east–west link in the city’s expanding metro network.
In September 2025, MMRDA had announced Landmark Corporation-Neev JV as the lowest bidder (L1), following the completion of the financial evaluation process. The competitive bid submitted by Landmark significantly undercut other contenders.
| Firm | Bid Value |
|---|---|
| Landmark Corporation - Neev JV | ₹151.2 crore (L1) |
| Gawar Construction Limited | ₹187.9 crore (L2) |
| Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd | ₹175.4 crore (L3) |
| J. Kumar Infraprojects Ltd | ₹185.4 crore (L4) |
The contract covers architectural finishing and essential station infrastructure works for seven elevated stations on Metro Line 2B, located between ESIC Nagar and Bandra. The scope includes Interior fit-outs, Design and construction of external façades, Water supply systems, Sanitary installations and Drainage infrastructure.
These works are critical for ensuring passenger comfort, safety, and operational readiness ahead of commissioning.
MMRDA invited bids for this package earlier this year, with technical bids opened on 14 August 2025. A total of eight firms participated in the tender.
Four bids were rejected during the technical evaluation stage
Financial bids of the remaining firms were opened thereafter
During financial evaluation, three more bids were rejected, leading to Landmark Corporation being declared L1
The issuance of the LoA now allows the contractor to initiate work as per tender conditions.
Metro Line 2B is expected to play a crucial role in easing east–west traffic congestion and improving last-mile connectivity across Mumbai. Timely completion of station finishing works is essential for aligning civil, systems, and operational timelines across the corridor.
Commenting on the development, Mrs. Mamta Shah, MD & CEO, Urban Infra Group, said: “Architectural finishing packages are where metro infrastructure becomes commuter-ready. By awarding multiple station packages in parallel, MMRDA is clearly focusing on accelerating delivery while enhancing passenger experience and station aesthetics along Metro Line 2B.”
With the issuance of the LoA to Landmark Corporation Pvt Ltd, MMRDA has taken another decisive step toward operational readiness of Mumbai Metro Line 2B. Alongside recent awards to other contractors, the authority is steadily advancing station infrastructure works to support Mumbai’s growing demand for efficient and modern urban transit.
