New Delhi, India (Rail & Metro Today): The Chamber of Railway Industries (Rail Chamber) has strengthened its global industry network with two leading international mobility and rail technology companies—Alstom Transport India Limited of France and Siemens of Germany—joining the Rail Chamber as Corporate Members.
The induction of the two global mobility leaders marks an important milestone for the Rail Chamber as it expands its engagement with international railway technology companies, manufacturers, infrastructure providers and solution developers operating in India.
Siemens became a Corporate Member of the Chamber of Railway Industries in May 2026, further strengthening the organisation's representation of global railway technology and mobility companies.
The German technology major has a significant presence across India's transportation ecosystem, with capabilities spanning railway electrification, signalling, rolling stock, intelligent mobility and digital rail solutions.
Its membership provides the Rail Chamber with an opportunity to facilitate greater industry collaboration, knowledge exchange and engagement between Indian stakeholders and global technology providers.
In another significant milestone, Alstom Transport India Limited became the 100th Corporate Member of the Chamber of Railway Industries in July 2026.
The milestone reflects the growing industry participation in the Rail Chamber and its efforts to create a common platform for railway companies, technology providers, manufacturers and other stakeholders.
Alstom is one of the world's leading providers of railway rolling stock, signalling, rail infrastructure, services and integrated mobility solutions. The company has a substantial manufacturing and project footprint in India and has been closely associated with several major railway and metro modernisation programmes.
The inclusion of Alstom and Siemens comes at a time when India's railway sector is undergoing significant transformation, driven by investments in high-speed rail, metro systems, signalling modernisation, railway electrification, indigenous train technology, safety systems and freight infrastructure.
For the Rail Chamber, the participation of global mobility leaders provides an opportunity to promote stronger cooperation between Indian railway companies and international technology partners.
The Chamber aims to serve as a platform for industry representation, policy dialogue, business networking, technology collaboration and knowledge sharing across the railway ecosystem.
With Alstom Transport India Limited becoming its 100th Corporate Member, the Rail Chamber has reached an important organisational milestone.
The growing membership base brings together companies from across the railway value chain, including rolling stock, signalling, electrification, track systems, railway components, infrastructure, engineering, technology and allied services.
The addition of two global mobility leaders—Siemens from Germany and Alstom from France—further underlines the increasing international interest in India's rapidly expanding railway and urban mobility market.
The Rail Chamber is expected to continue expanding its membership and international engagement as India moves towards a more technology-driven, indigenous and globally integrated railway ecosystem.
