NCRTC unveils operational plans for the entire Delhi-Meerut RRTS Corridor

New Delhi, India (Metro Rail Today): In a significant achievement for the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridor, the last viaduct span between Meerut South and Shatabdi Nagar stations has been successfully installed. This marks the completion of the entire viaduct, stretching from Sahibabad to Shatabdi Nagar, covering a substantial distance of 48 km.

The latest span was installed beyond the Delhi-Meerut Expressway, advancing towards Meerut, and signifies the transition of construction work to the next phase. The section from Meerut South Station to Shatabdi Nagar spans approximately 6 km. With this installation, the focus now shifts to track laying and traction-related activities, set to commence shortly.

In this section, stations including Partapur, Rithani, and Shatabdi Nagar are rapidly taking shape after Meerut South station. Notably, the slab casting of the concourse and platform levels at these stations—Partapur, Rithani, and Shatabdi Nagar—has been completed, with finishing work progressing at a swift pace. Additionally, technical equipment rooms in these stations have been constructed, underscoring the project's multifaceted progress.

Considering passenger convenience, entry-exit gates are being diligently constructed on both sides of the road in these stations, with ongoing rapid progress. Furthermore, to ensure accessible travel between levels, the installation of lifts, escalators, and stairs is underway.

Recently, the RRTS corridor in Meerut achieved another milestone by successfully crossing the Indian Railways line at Partapur, at an elevation of about 20 meters.

Operational Stages of Namo Bharat Operations:

This section encompasses stations like Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai, and Duhai Depot.

Stage 2: The forthcoming Stage 2 covers the 25 km stretch beyond the Priority Section to Meerut South. Currently undergoing trial runs, Namo Bharat trains are poised to commence full-fledged operations in this section. Stations beyond Duhai include Muradnagar, Modi Nagar South, Modi Nagar North, and Meerut South.

Stage 3: In Stage 3, Namo Bharat trains will operate from Sahibabad towards Sarai Kale Khan stations in Delhi. This section includes Anand Vihar, New Ashok Nagar, and Sarai Kale Khan stations, with the final stages of construction nearing completion.

Stage 4: The final operational stage, Namo Bharat Operation-Stage-4, will see services from Meerut South towards Modi Puram Depot in Meerut. Stations beyond Meerut South include Partapur, Rithani, Shatabdi Nagar, Brahmpuri, Meerut Central (underground), Bhainsali (underground), Begumpul (underground), MES Colony, Daurli, Meerut North, Modi Puram, and Modi Puram Depot.
