Jaipur, India (Rail & Metro Today): The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has awarded a ₹59.17 lakh contract to M/s NV Dynamics Private Limited for carrying out a specialised assessment of airborne noise and ground-borne vibration for the Jaipur Metro Phase-2 project.
The contract, valued at ₹59,17,106.93, was awarded on September 28, 2026, under contract reference PD/JAIPUR-II-02/2026. The study will examine noise impacts on elevated sections and vibration associated with underground sections of the planned metro corridor, besides recommending suitable mitigation measures.
The assignment is titled “Study for Assessment of Air Borne Noise at Elevated Corridor & Ground Borne Vibration at Underground Corridor and recommendation to Mitigate excess Noise and Vibration for Jaipur Metro Phase-2.”
NV Dynamics Private Limited will undertake the assessment over a stipulated period of 24 months, or 730 days, from the date of commencement. The Letter of Acceptance issued by DMRC will also serve as the Notice to Proceed under the contractual provisions.
The study is intended to establish a technical basis for identifying areas where noise or vibration levels may require mitigation and for recommending appropriate measures for the project.
One of the principal components of the assignment is the assessment of airborne noise along the elevated corridor of Jaipur Metro Phase-2.
The study will examine noise conditions associated with the elevated metro infrastructure and identify instances where noise levels may require attention. Based on the assessment, suitable technical measures will be recommended to mitigate excess noise.
Such analysis will form part of the environmental and engineering considerations associated with the development of the elevated metro sections.
The second major component of the consultancy focuses on ground-borne vibration along the underground corridor.
The assessment will examine vibration generated by metro operations and identify sections where mitigation may be required. The resulting recommendations are expected to provide technical inputs for addressing excessive vibration associated with the underground metro infrastructure.
By studying airborne noise and ground-borne vibration separately across the elevated and underground sections, the assignment will address the different environmental and engineering characteristics associated with each type of metro construction.
According to the project information provided, the Union Cabinet approved Jaipur Metro Phase-2 in April 2026. The proposed project comprises a 41-km North–South corridor from Prahladpura to Todi Mod, with 36 stations.
The project is being implemented by the Rajasthan Metro Rail Corporation Limited (RMRCL), a 50:50 joint venture between the Government of India and the Government of Rajasthan.
Jaipur currently has an operational Metro system under Phase-1, comprising the East–West corridor between Mansarovar and Badi Chaupar. The existing corridor covers 11.64 km and has 11 stations.
The ₹59.17 lakh study represents a specialised technical consultancy component of Jaipur Metro Phase-2. Its focus on both elevated airborne noise and underground ground-borne vibration is intended to help identify potential impacts and establish suitable mitigation measures during project development.
With the assignment scheduled for completion over 730 days, the findings will provide DMRC and the project stakeholders with technical recommendations for managing noise and vibration considerations as Jaipur Metro Phase-2 progresses through its planning and implementation stages.
