Jaipur, India (Metro Rail Today): Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma convened a meeting with Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation (JMRC) Limited officials to discuss the new phase of the metro, instructing the preparation of a fresh Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the metro extension from Sitapura to Ambabadi and Vidyadhar Nagar. The meeting, held at the Chief Minister's Office, emphasized the government's commitment to providing seamless transportation in Jaipur and positioning Jaipur Metro as a model metro system nationwide.
During the meeting on 1st March 2024, Chief Minister Sharma underscored the state government's priority of offering easy transportation facilities to Jaipur residents. He urged the development of Jaipur Metro as a model for the country, emphasizing the need for a thorough assessment of expenses and costs to ensure optimal utilization of financial resources for improved transportation facilities.
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma also urged the prompt laying of the foundation stone for Phase 1-D of Jaipur Metro, connecting Mansarovar to the Ajmer Road intersection on the 200-foot bypass. This project is part of the 100-day action plan. Additionally, officials were directed to incorporate major crowded areas of the city into Jaipur Metro's connectivity and consider possibilities for future expansion.
The meeting saw the presence of Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant, Additional Chief Secretary (Finance) Akhil Arora, Additional Chief Secretary (Chief Minister) Shikhar Agarwal, Principal Secretary (Chief Minister) Alok Gupta, Principal Secretary (Urban Development) T. Ravikant, and senior officials of JMRC.
In aligning with the government's vision, Jaipur Metro continues to evolve, focusing on comprehensive connectivity, efficient transportation, and future growth prospects for the city.
