Dubai, United Arab Emirates (Metro Rail Today): Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has awarded a AED 20.5 billion (approximately $5.58 billion) contract for the highly anticipated Dubai Metro Blue Line to a consortium of three major companies: MAPA, LIMAK, and CRRC, hailing from Turkey and China. This significant partnership marks one of the largest infrastructure projects underway in Dubai and highlights the collaboration between international contractors and local partners.
The project’s contract scope encompasses a range of critical tasks, ensuring the successful delivery of the Blue Line:
Following the completion of the project, the contractor will provide maintenance and operational support for an initial three-year period, ensuring the new Blue Line operates smoothly and meets the high standards of Dubai’s transport infrastructure.
The Dubai Metro Blue Line is set to further strengthen Dubai’s world-class public transport system. As a key addition to the existing metro network, it will not only enhance accessibility across the city but also play a crucial role in reducing traffic congestion, promoting sustainability, and improving the overall commuter experience.
