Bengaluru, India (Metro Rail Today): Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has issued a global tender notice on 22nd April 2022 and invited bids from suitably qualified, eligible, reputed and experienced Rolling Stock manufacturers for supply of 72 numbers Rolling Stock Coaches (12 metro trainsets of six coaches) for Bangalore Metro's Phase 2 Project.
The scope of work includes Design, Manufacture, Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of 72 nos. of Standard Gauge Metro Cars and Training of Personnel under Bangalore Metro Rail Project Phase-2. The Rolling Stock manufacturer has to supply the coaches within 243 weeks.
Tender documents can be downloaded from the official website of Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRC) from 25th April 2022 to 16th May 2022. A pre-bid meeting has been scheduled on 23rd May 2022 at 11.00AM (IST) in the Office of Managing Director, BMRCL, 3rd Floor, BMTC Complex, KH Road, Shanthi Nagar, Banaglore 560027, Karnataka, India.
The last date for submitting the bid documents is 30.06.2022 up to 15.00 hrs (IST).
These 12 train-sets of 6 cars will be deployed on the 19.143 km Yellow Line (Reach 5) of Bangalore Metro which will connect RV Road to Bommasandra through 16 stations.
Earlier, a similar contract worth Rs 854.95 crores was awarded to Chinese Rolling Stock firm CRRC Corporation on 12th February 2019 for supply of 216 new Rolling Stock coaches for Purple Line (Line-1), Green Line (Line-2) and Yellow Line (Line-3) of Bangalore Metro's Phase 2. But, CRRC has not yet supplied any train set to Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd.
