Bhubaneswar, India (Metro Rail Today): In a significant development for the Bhubaneswar Metro Phase 1 project, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced the tender notices for two crucial civil construction packages - BBC-04 and BBC-05. This announcement follows the recent publication of Package BBC-03's tender notice, marking a crucial step forward in the expansion of the metro network in Bhubaneswar.
Package BBC-04 covers a stretch of 7.27 km in the heart of Bhubaneswar's Line-1, connecting Acharya Square to KIIT Square via 7 elevated stations. Meanwhile, Package BBC-05 spans 10.970 km at the northern end of Line-1, linking KIIT Square to Trisulia Square via 6 elevated stations. Notably, Package BBC-05 stands out as the longest among the three main-line civil packages.
The scope of Package BBC-05 also includes the construction of a ramp leading to the Phulapokhari Depot & Workshop, which is part of Package BBC-02 and will be built on a 16-hectare parcel. Both packages come with a 36-month construction deadline and will be financed entirely by the Government of Odisha and other appropriate means of the Bhubaneswar Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL).
