12 Bidders compete for Contract Package C-6 of Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor

Gurugram, India (Metro Rail Today): Haryana Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (HRIDC) has reported significant interest in the construction of Package C-6, a pivotal segment of the Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor (HORC) project. Twelve firms have submitted bids following the opening of technical bids on Monday, marking a crucial step forward in the development of Haryana’s first semi high-speed rail line.

Package C-6 spans 64.53 km and aims to connect HORC’s New Patli Station (km 61.50) with Indian Railways’ Harsana Kalan Station (km 126.03) along the north-west corridor. In addition to the mainline construction, the scope includes the development of two spurs: one linking HORC’s Badsa Station to IR’s Sultanpur Station, and another from HORC’s Mandothi Station to IR’s Asaudah Station. The comprehensive scope covers civil works such as earthwork, bridges, station buildings, retaining walls, and associated electrical services.

The bidding process, initiated by HRIDC in March 2024, attracted a diverse array of prominent infrastructure firms vying for the opportunity to execute this critical rail infrastructure project. Among the notable bidders are Larsen & Toubro Ltd., IRCON International Ltd., PNC Infratech Ltd., and Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd., showcasing the competitive nature of the tender. Here is the full list of bidders:-

  • APCO Infratech Pvt. Ltd.

Following the submission of technical bids, HRIDC will undertake a thorough evaluation process, expected to span several months. This evaluation will assess the technical capabilities and adherence to project specifications of each bidder. Once technically qualified, the financial bids of the bidders will be opened to determine the lowest bidder, likely to be awarded the contract for Package C-6.

The construction of Package C-6, the longest segment within the HORC project, is anticipated to require substantial financial backing. The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is set to finance the project through two loans totaling USD 450 million, underscoring international interest and support for enhancing regional connectivity and economic development through infrastructure investments.

Upon completion, Package C-6 will significantly enhance connectivity across Haryana, facilitating smoother movement of goods and passengers along a strategic corridor. The project aligns with broader regional development goals, aiming to reduce travel times and congestion while boosting economic activities in the region.

The competitive bidding for Package C-6 marks a critical phase in the advancement of the Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor project.
