New Delhi, India (Metro Rail Today): The Board of Directors of the Chamber of Railway Industries (Rail Chamber) has announced the appointment of Dr. Vinod Shah as its first Director General, effective today. The landmark development comes just 24 hours after the successful digital launch of the Rail Chamber’s online portal on Good Governance Day, marking a decisive step toward unifying India’s railway industrial ecosystem.
Dr. Shah brings over 18 years of multidimensional leadership experience spanning railways, metro systems, power utilities, and urban infrastructure.
He currently serves as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Urban Infra Group and is widely recognized for his strategy leadership, media expertise, and result-oriented approach.
Academically, Dr. Shah holds:
Ph.D. in Mass Communication
Postgraduate degrees in Business Administration, Journalism, and Urban Planning
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (under MoHUA)
Over 14 years of service in corporate communications and public relations, gaining deep insights into large public transport systems.
NTPC Limited
More than three years at India’s largest power producer, leading capacity building and employee development initiatives.
Urban Infra Group (since 2017)
Spearheading strategic growth and transforming it into a leading knowledge platform in urban mobility and smart infrastructure.
