NCRTC suggests three RRTS routes to connect Greater Noida with Greater Noida West

Greater Noida, India (Metro Rail Today): In a promising move towards enhancing regional connectivity, Greater Noida and Greater Noida West are on the verge of being seamlessly integrated with the high-speed rail transport system of the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS). The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has suggested three potential routes, marking a significant step towards linking these thriving regions with the broader RRTS network.

N G Ravi Kumar, the CEO of Greater Noida Authority, has taken proactive measures to expedite the decision-making process. A joint team of officials from the authority and NCRTC has been formed, tasked with finalizing one route within a week. The urgency stems from the imminent survey of all three proposed routes, with the objective of integrating Greater Noida and Greater Noida West seamlessly into the RRTS network.

Rapid rails, known for their remarkable speed, operate at three times the velocity of traditional Metro trains, reaching a maximum speed of 160 km/hour. This efficiency underscores the potential for a swift and seamless connection between Greater Noida, Greater Noida West, and the broader RRTS network.

The proposed route will intricately link with the RRTS from the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor, extending to the Jewar Airport. The stretch will be constructed from Siddharth Vihar in Ghaziabad to the airport, passing through Char Murti Chowk (Gaur Chowk) in Greater Noida West. This integration is poised to not only facilitate efficient transportation but also boost accessibility to the upcoming Jewar Airport.

In a recent meeting, three alternative routes from Char Murti Chowk were suggested by the officials. The first route, spanning a 130-meter wide road, extends from Char Murti Chowk to Noida Airport via the authority office and Pari Chowk. The second route proposes a 60-meter road from Greater Noida West, while the third suggests a route via Knowledge Park-5, Surajpur, and Kasna. The survey team, comprising officials from the Greater Noida Authority and NCRTC, will conduct an on-the-spot survey to assess the viability of these routes.

CEO N G Ravi Kumar emphasized that the route selection should align with both present and future traffic needs, ensuring that the residents of Greater Noida experience minimal congestion. The team aims to strike a balance between immediate requirements and long-term infrastructure planning.

This initiative is part of a broader plan involving the development of eight RRTS corridors in the National Capital Region (NCR). In Phase-I, priority has been accorded to three corridors, including the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Corridor, Delhi-Gurugram-SNB-Alwar Corridor, and Delhi-Panipat Corridor. These corridors aim to redefine regional connectivity, promising efficient and swift transportation options.

The collaborative efforts between Greater Noida, Greater Noida West, and NCRTC represent a stride towards a future marked by enhanced connectivity and efficient transportation.
