Qatar extends services of Lusail Tram on Pink Line

Doha, Qatar (Metro Rail Today): The Ministry of Transport (MOT) has announced the expansion of the Lusail Tram service, effective from April 8. Commencing operations on the Pink Line service and across all Orange Line stations, this expansion marks a significant milestone in enhancing public transportation in the region.

With the inclusion of ten new stations on the Orange Line, namely Naifa, Fox Hills – South, Downtown Lusail, Al Khayl Street, Fox Hills – North, Crescent Park – North, Rawdat Lusail, Erkiyah, Lusail Stadium, and Al Yasmeen, the Lusail Tram service now offers extended connectivity to additional areas within Lusail.

Furthermore, the Pink Line service will operate across all stations in this phase, spanning from Legtaifiya to Seef Lusail – North, with the exception of Al Sa’ad Plaza, which will join the service at a later stage. This phase of the Pink Line service encompasses a total of 10 stations. Consequently, the total number of operational stations within the Lusail Tram network increases to 21.

Operating seven days a week, the Lusail Tram service maintains consistent service hours aligned with the Doha Metro schedule. Service hours are from 5:30 am to 12 midnight from Saturday through Wednesday, with extended service hours until 1 am on Thursdays and from 2 pm to 1 am on Fridays.

The expanded service coverage enables the public to conveniently access various destinations within Lusail, including Al Seef, Crescent Park, Lusail Boulevard, and Al Maha Island. Additionally, passengers can seamlessly connect to the Metro network via Legtaifiya Station, enhancing overall transportation convenience and accessibility.

This initiative reflects MOT’s commitment to delivering an integrated, sustainable, and eco-friendly public transit system, in line with the development plans for Lusail City. Positioned just north of Doha, Lusail City embodies a visionary waterfront development, envisioned to be an environmentally-conscious and self-sustaining community.

The Lusail Tram network plays a pivotal role in serving the residents of Lusail City, offering an environmentally-friendly mode of transportation that not only connects local destinations but also facilitates connectivity to Doha through the Doha Metro.
