Rahee Infratech bags ₹133.66 crore track work contract for Surat Metro Line 2

Surat, India (Metro Rail Today): The Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation Limited (GMRCL) has awarded a contract worth Rs 133.66 crore to Rahee Infrateck Limited for supply and installation of standard gauge rails for 19.26 kilometres long Corridor 2 of Surat Metro Rail Project connecting Bhesan – Saroli on 9th March 2023. The total value of contract is Rs 136,66, 66,623.00.

The scope of work includes design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of Ballastless Track from Bhesan to Saroli in Elevated Section Including Connecting Lines to Depot along with Ballasted / Ballastless / Embedded Standard Gauge Track for Corridor 2 of Surat Metro Rail Project, Phase 1.

Tender notice for the above work was issued in May 2022 and technical bids were opened in September 2022. A total of six bidder participated in the tender. Financial bids were opened in January 2023 where Rahee Infrateck Limited was emerged as lowest bidder. The financial position of each bidder is as under:-

• Rahee Infratech Ltd: Rs 133.66 crore
• Larsen & Toubro Ltd: Rs 139.78 crore
• Texmaco Rail and Engineering Ltd: Rs 141.74 crore
• KEC International Ltd: Rs 143.93 crore
• Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd: Rs 148.03 crore
• Apurvakriti Infrastructure Ltd: Rs 151.94 crore

The 19.26 km long Corridor 2 of Surat Metro will connect Bhesan to Saroli with 18 elevated metro stations at Bhesan, Botanical Garden, Ugat Vaarigruh, Palanpur Road, LP Savani School, Performing Art Centre, Adajan Gam, Aquarium, Badri Narayan Temple, Athwa Chopati, Majura Gate (interchange), Udhna Dawaja, Kamela Darwaja, Anjana Farm, Model Town, Magob, Bharat Cancer Hospital and Saroli.

The depot is being developped at Bhesan.
