Bengaluru, India (Metro rail Today): The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) today opened the financial bids of the civil contract package of Challaghatta Metro Depot of Bangalore Metro's Phase 2 Project.
As per the result, a consortium comprising RITES Ltd. and Power Mech Projects Ltd. emerged as the lowest bidder to construct Challaghatta Depot - cum - Workshop for Phase 2 of Bangalore Metro.
The scope of work includes the construction of Depot cum Workshop at Challaghatta in Reach-2 Extension of Bangalore Metro Rail Project, Phase-2.
Tender notice for this contract package was issued in January 2022 with an estimated cost of work Rs 517.44 crore and two years (24 months) completion deadline. Technical bids were opened in March 2022 in which BMRCL received five bids.
The quoted value and financial position of each bidder are as under:-
Now all bids have been sent for final technical evaluation and BMRC will finalise this contract soon as RITES-PMPL JV has quoted Rs. 499.41 crore which is 3.48% below the estimate of BMRCL i.e. Rs. 517.44 crore.
The Challaghatta Metro Depot will be built on a portion of a 40-acre land parcel abutting Mysore Road at the southern end of Reach 2B which is under construction by Soma Enterprise. In the future, this depot will become important in running smooth operations on the Purple Line, along with the Kadugodi Metro Depot.
