New Delhi, India (Metro Rail Today): The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has awarded RT. Vision Technologies Pvt. Ltd. a significant contract for the comprehensive annual maintenance of Platform Screen Door (PSD) systems on the Delhi Metro Yellow Line (Line 2). This contract, valued at ₹15.09 Crores, spans a period of three years (1,080 days) and focuses on ensuring the upkeep of PSD systems installed across the 47.2 km Yellow Line, which runs from Samaypur Badli to Millennium City Centre in Gurugram, covering 37 stations. The Letter of Acceptance (LoA) was issued on 3rd January 2025.
The bidding process for this contract began with the opening of technical bids on November 22, 2024. A total of four firms participated in the bidding process. The technical evaluation of the bids took place on December 26, 2024, with two firms—MCML Projects Private Limited and Technocrats Kohlhauer Infrastructure Private Limited—having their bids rejected. Following this, the financial bids were opened on the same day, and a financial evaluation was conducted on March 24, 2025. The evaluation concluded with RT. Vision Technologies Pvt. Ltd. emerging as the lowest bidder, securing the contract for the comprehensive maintenance of the PSD systems on the Yellow Line.
Platform screen doors (PSDs), also known as platform edge doors (PEDs), are safety barriers installed between the platform and the train tracks in train, rapid transit, and people mover stations, designed to prevent accidents and unauthorized access to the tracks.
This contract is crucial in ensuring the continued safety and operational efficiency of the platform screen doors, a key feature in managing passenger flow and enhancing safety on Delhi Metro's busy Yellow Line.
