Ahmedabad Metro Phase 1:  Project Information, Cost, Contractors and System Details

The Phase 1 of Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project covers a total length of 40 km and consist with 2 Lines. Line 1 (East-West Corridor) runs a total of 21.16 km distance and connect Vastral Gam to Thaltej Gam while Line 2 (North-South Corridor) will cover a total of 18.87 km distance and connect Motera Stadium to APMC. At present a total of 6.5 km stretch of Line 1 is Operational since March 4, 2019 and remaing sections are Under Construction.

System Information

  • Rolling Stock (Train): 3 Coach, Standard Gauge (1,435 mm), Maximum Speed - 80 kmph, Average Speed - 33 kmph, Passenger Capacity - 782. The train is capable of running “driverless” on unattended train operations (UTO) mode.
