Ahmedabad, India (Metro Rail Today): In a recent update from the National High Speed Rail Corporation Ltd (NHSRCL), Sushma Gaur, the Additional General Manager, shared significant milestones in the ambitious Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Bullet Train project. The focus of the update was on the construction activities, land acquisition, and the unveiling of station models.
Gaur highlighted the noteworthy achievement of completing 120 kilometers of wire duct, a critical component of the high-speed rail infrastructure. Additionally, she emphasized that the NHSRCL has successfully acquired 100% of the required land for the project, a crucial step towards ensuring a smooth and efficient execution.
The presentation also featured station models, providing stakeholders and the public with a tangible glimpse of what the future Surat station will look like. Detailed photo panels were showcased, illustrating the progress made at various High-Speed Rail (HSR) stations. Furthermore, a scaled-down model of the train, sized at 1/10, was presented, offering viewers a preview of the sleek and modern design that the bullet train is set to embody.
According to Gaur, the much-anticipated trial runs are slated to commence in 2026, specifically on the 50-kilometer stretch between Surat and Bilimora. This marks a pivotal phase in the project timeline, allowing for the assessment of the train's performance, safety measures, and overall feasibility.
As the project moves closer to the trial phase, anticipation and excitement are building not only among the project stakeholders but also among the general public eagerly awaiting the introduction of high-speed rail connectivity between Mumbai and Ahmedabad.
In a statement, Gaur expressed confidence in the project's progress, stating, "We are showcasing what the train is going to look like, and we are on track to meet our milestones for the trial runs in 2026."
