Bengaluru, India (Rail & Metro Today): A tender has been invited for Detailed Design Consultancy (DDC) services for a 7.795-km elevated section of the Bengaluru Suburban Transport Project (BSTP), covering complex viaduct structures, a double-decker rail-cum-road flyover, a double-decker station and associated infrastructure across multiple corridors.
The consultancy package covers infrastructure associated with Corridors 1, 2 and 4, including the elevated section between Benniganahalli and Yeshwanthpur (YPR) Cabin on Corridor 2, part of the substructure works at Yeshwanthpur under Corridor 1, and road overbridges and a road underbridge under Corridor 4.
The deadline for submission of bids is October 14, 2026, at 3:00 pm IST.
The primary component of the consultancy is the detailed design of approximately 7.795 km of elevated viaduct, including a double-decker structure combining rail and road infrastructure. The scope also includes a proposed double-decker station at Mathikere, entry and exit structures, road flyover ramps and a Y-loop ramp.
The consultant will also be responsible for design-related works associated with the BSTP viaduct ramp at Benniganahalli, Hebbal and YPR Cabin foot overbridges (FOBs), along with multimodal integration facilities and other related infrastructure.
The combination of railway viaducts, road flyovers, ramps and station infrastructure makes the package a technically complex component of Bengaluru's expanding suburban transport system.
Under Corridor 2, the consultancy covers the elevated section between Benniganahalli and YPR Cabin, including the double-decker rail-cum-road flyover and associated structures.
The package also includes part of the substructure works at Yeshwanthpur under Corridor 1. For Corridor 4, the design consultancy covers four road overbridges (RoBs) and one road underbridge (RuB).
The scope brings together several types of transport infrastructure within a single consultancy package, requiring coordinated design for rail operations, road traffic, station access and multimodal integration.
In addition to viaduct and bridge structures, the consultancy includes entry and exit facilities, road flyover ramps, foot overbridges and other associated infrastructure. Multimodal integration works are also part of the package, reflecting the need to coordinate suburban rail facilities with other transport modes and passenger access arrangements.
Detailed design consultancy is a key preparatory stage for major infrastructure construction. It establishes the engineering designs and technical provisions required to take civil works forward, subject to the project's applicable approvals and implementation processes.
The tender has been invited for Detailed Design Consultancy services under the Bengaluru Suburban Transport Project. Interested and eligible bidders can refer to the official e-procurement portal for the complete tender documents, qualification criteria and submission requirements.
The bid submission deadline is October 14, 2026, at 3:00 pm IST.
The consultancy package represents an important design-stage procurement for the BSTP, particularly because it combines elevated railway infrastructure with road flyovers, a double-decker station, bridge structures and multimodal facilities. The proposed works are intended to support the coordinated development of Bengaluru's suburban transport infrastructure across Corridors 1, 2 and 4.
