Chandigarh, India (Metro Rail Today): Haryana Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (HRIDC) on 19th April 2022 opened financial bids for the first civil contract package C-1 for the construction of 5.9 km Priority Section (Manesar - Patli) of the 121.742 km Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor.
As per the financial bid result, Gurugram-based construction firm KCC Buildcon Pvt. Ltd. emerged as the lowest bidder among the other four bidders.
The scope of work includes the Construction of Earthwork, Bridges, Station Buildings, Retaining Walls and other miscellaneous works in connection with the laying of the New BG Double Railway line of the HORC Project from Km 49.7 to Km 55.6 and its connectivity (new BG single line) from proposed Manesar Station of HORC to existing Patli Railway Station of Indian Railways Network.
The tender notice for the above work was issued in November 2021 with an estimated cost of Rs 175.8 crore and a work completion deadline of 15 months from the date of issuance of a letter of acceptance (LoA) to the contractor. Technical bids were opened in January 2022 and a total of eight bidders submitted their bids.

Now all bids have been sent for final evaluation by the tender committee set up by HRIDC.
The Haryana Orbital Rail Project is a kind of Semi-High Speed Rail Project. The semi-high speed trains on this new rail corridor will run at 160kmph (maximum speed) and connect a 121.42 km long stretch from Sonipat Kundli at Harsana Kalan to Palwal at Asaoti through 17 stations along the Kundli – Manesar – Palwal (KMP / WPE) Expressway. The estimated cost of this project is Rs 5,566 crores.
The consortium of RITES Ltd and SMEC will provide General Consultancy services for the Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor project. The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has shown interest to support this project through a US$400 million ODA loan.
