Sandeep Srivastava takes charge as Director (Rolling Stock) at National High Speed Rail Corporation

New Delhi, India (Metro Rail Today): Sandeep Srivastava, an officer of 1995-batch of Indian Railways Services of Electrical Engineering (IRSEE), assumed his new role as Director (Rolling Stock) at the National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) on September 22, 2023. This appointment marks a significant milestone in his illustrious career and brings with it a wealth of experience and expertise in the field of high-speed rail.

Sandeep Srivastava embarked on his professional journey as an Assistant Electrical Engineer at the Indian Railways in May 1995. Over the years, he steadily ascended the ranks, showcasing his dedication and expertise in the field. His remarkable journey within the Indian Railways led him to attain the prestigious positions of Executive Director and Director at NHSRCL.

Srivastava's journey with NHSRCL began in September 2017 when he joined the organization on deputation from the Ministry of Railways, Government of India. Prior to taking on the role of Director (Rolling Stock), he served as the Principal Executive Director (Rolling Stock) at NHSRCL.

One of Srivastava's noteworthy achievements during his tenure at NHSRCL was his pivotal role in the finalization of crucial documents, including the Manual of Standard & Specification (MSS), Standards & Specification (SS), and Technical Specifications (TS) for Rolling Stock. These documents lay the foundation for India's first high-speed rail project.

Under his able leadership, the team at NHSRCL successfully completed the contract for the Preliminary Design Study of Shinkansen Rolling Stock tailored to Indian environmental conditions. Additionally, they secured the award for the Crew Training Simulator contract. Presently, the team is dedicated to the procurement of Rolling Stock for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Project, a critical component of this ambitious endeavor.

Sandeep Srivastava brings with him a wealth of experience garnered over two decades within the Indian Railways. His career has seen him serve in various capacities, particularly in the design and maintenance of Traction Rolling Stocks. Notably, he played a pivotal role in the development of 12,000 hp and 9,000 hp locomotives, showcasing his dedication to advancing rail technology.

As Director (Rolling Stock) at NHSRCL, Sandeep Srivastava's expertise and leadership are expected to play a crucial role in steering India's high-speed rail projects toward successful fruition.
