Santhosh Kumar Jha takes charge as new CMD of Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd

Navi Mumbai, India (Metro Rail Today): Santhosh Kumar Jha, an accomplished officer belonging to the Indian Railway Traffic Services (IRTS) of the 1992 batch, assumed the role of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) at Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd. (KRCL) on April 1, 2024.

Mr. Jha, previously serving as the Director (Operations and Commercial) within KRCL, has now ascended to the esteemed position of CMD. KRCL, a significant public sector undertaking operating under the aegis of the Ministry of Railways, entrusts Mr. Jha with the responsibility of steering the organization towards further growth and success.

Mr. Jha brings with him a wealth of experience, boasting a career spanning 28 years characterized by proficiency in Operations, Infrastructure Planning, and Business Development. His academic credentials include an M.Sc. in Geology from Lucknow University and an MBA in Marketing from the prestigious Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai.

Throughout his illustrious career, Mr. Jha has held several notable positions, including Head of Operations in prominent railway divisions and leadership roles in key business units within the logistics sector. With over 15 years dedicated to Commercial and Business Development functions within the realm of Railways and Logistics, Mr. Jha has garnered extensive expertise in various domains.

His multifaceted skill set encompasses adept handling of Customs procedures, spearheading Training and Rajbhasha Divisions, and contributing significantly to Strategic Planning initiatives. Noteworthy among his achievements is the instrumental role he played in establishing Multi-Modal Logistic Hubs, Sidings, and Private Freight Terminals, underscoring his visionary approach towards infrastructural development and operational efficiency.
