Hyderabad, India (Metro Rail Today): The Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) selected General Consultant (GC) for the proposed 31 kilometres Airport Metro Line conencting Mindspace Junction with Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) with 10 stations.
The consortium comprising of Systra MVA, RITES Ltd and DB Engineering & Consulting has been selected as preferred bidder by HMRL. "Systra+RITES+DB consortium has been chosen as the General Consultants (GC) for Hyderabad Airport Metro project. They were technically the highest scorer & financially L1 with a quote of Rs 98.54 cr. They will provide 18 specialist metro rail engineering experts for the project," said NVS Reddy, Managing Director, HMRL.
A total of five bidders were in the race of providing General Engineering Consultancy services for the Hyderabad Airport Metro Express against the Expression of Interest (EOI cum RfQ) invited in December 2022 with a 36 month contract period.
In January 2023, HMRL had invited all 5 bidders to submit Request for Participation (RfP).
The 31-km Airport Express Line will be constructed along Outer Ring Road (ORR) and will have an elevated viaduct for 28.5 km and underground for 2.5 km at the airport within Hyderabad Aerocity. The metro line will cover the 31-km distance from Gachibowli in the city to RGIA in 20 minutes with trains operating at a maximum speed of 120 kmph.
A total of 10 stations (9 elevated & 1 underground) will be built at Mindspace, Raidurg, Biodiversity, Nanakramguda, Narasingi, TSPA Junction, Rajender Nagar, Shamshabad Junction, Airport Cargo and RGIA Terminal (only underground station).
