New Delhi, India (Metro Rail Today): The Mumbai–Ahmedabad High Speed Rail (MAHSR) Project has reached another important milestone, with two international firms submitting bids for a major Project Management Consultancy (PMC) Services contract covering Signalling & Telecommunication, SCADA, and Ticketing Systems. As per the financial bid results, Systra MVA has been declared as the lowest bidder for said PMC contract for Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor.
In August 2025, the National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) invited bids for this long-term consultancy package, which carries a contract duration of 2,520 days. The bids highlight strong global interest in India’s flagship bullet train project.
| Firm | Bid Value |
|---|---|
| SYSTRA MVA | ₹612.4 crore (L1) |
| Ayesa Ingenieria y Arquitectura | ₹661 crore (L2) |
The consultancy assignment involves Project Management Consultancy Services for:
Signalling & Telecommunication Systems
SCADA System
Ticketing System
These systems are critical for ensuring safe, reliable, and technology-driven operations on India’s first high-speed rail corridor.
The Mumbai–Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project is a 508-km under-construction high-speed rail corridor connecting Maharashtra and Gujarat through 12 stations:
Maharashtra (4): Mumbai (BKC), Thane, Virar, Boisar
Gujarat (8): Vapi, Bilimora, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, Anand, Ahmedabad, Sabarmati
Once operational, the project will dramatically reduce travel time between Mumbai and Ahmedabad and set new benchmarks for rail technology in India.
Commenting on the development, Mrs. Mamta Shah, MD & CEO, Urban Infra Group, said: “The response to this consultancy package underlines the growing global confidence in the Mumbai–Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Project. Advanced signalling, SCADA, and ticketing systems are the digital backbone of any high-speed network, and their successful integration will be crucial for safety, punctuality, and passenger experience. This milestone reinforces India’s seriousness in adopting world-class rail technologies.”
The opening of bids for this PMC contract signals steady progress in the systems and technology phase of the MAHSR project. With global leaders competing for this role, NHSRCL is positioned to leverage international best practices while shaping a robust, future-ready high-speed rail ecosystem for India.
