Saint Ouen, France (Metro Rail Today): Alstom, a global leader in smart and sustainable mobility, has signed a €781 million contract with the Moroccan National Railway Office (ONCF) to supply 18 Avelia Horizon very high-speed trains. This deal, financed by the French Treasury, marks a major milestone in Morocco’s rail expansion and has been recorded in Alstom’s Q4 2024/2025 fiscal year.
The extension of Morocco’s high-speed rail network to Marrakech will enhance connectivity and reduce travel time between Tangier and Marrakech. Alstom’s state-of-the-art Avelia Horizon double-decker trains will not only offer faster transit but also minimize environmental impact by reducing carbon emissions.
