Chennai, India (Metro Rail Today): Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) issued revised e-tender notice for the construction of 10.13 km stretch from Sholinganallur Lake to SIPCOT 2 including 9 metro stations for Corridor 3 (Madhavaram – SIPCOT 2) of Chennai Metro Rail Project, Phase 2.
The scope of work includes construction of elevated viaduct and nine (9) elevated metro stations at Sholinganallur Lake, Ponniamman Temple, Sathyabama University, Semmancheri, Gandhi Nagar, Navallur, Siruseri, SIPCOT 1 and SIPCOT 2 and stabling viaduct at SIPCOT of Corridor 3 of Chennai Metro Rail Project, Phase 2.
The estimate cost of work is Rs 957.50 crores and expected to complete in 1065 days. Tender documents can be downloaded from Chennai Metro Rail Limited's official website or eprocurement portal from 25th March 2022 to 10th May 2022 (up to 15.00hrs) on payment of Rs 33,500/- or US$440 against document fee.
A pre-bid meeting is scheduled on 15th April, 2022 at 11.00hrs (IST) at Chennai Metro Rail Limited, Admin Building, CMRL Depot, Poonamallee High Road, Koyambedu, Chennai 600107, Tamilnadu.
Last date for submission of technical as well as financial bids is 10th May 2022 till 15.00hrs (IST). The technical bids will be opened on 10th May 2022 at 17.00hrs (IST).
The original tender notice was issued in January 2021 with a 36 month deadline. A total of three firms namely Larsen & Toubro Ltd, ITD Cementation India Ltd and JMC Projects Ltd. had participated. Later, tender was cancelled without opening of the financial bids.
This package will be financed by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) through an ODA loan of US$780 million (approx. Rs 5,890) signed with Govt. of India.
Corridor 3 of Chennai Metro will connect Madhavaram to SIPCOT 2 with 48 stations.
