This project will transform the city’s transport ecosystem and will be executed in a manner that ensures minimal inconvenience to commuters.”
The tender document, issued on March 8, outlines that the selected contractor will be responsible for conducting a detailed survey of the viaduct alignment and constructing the station structures, including track supports, commercial areas, and other civil works.
In addition, the contractor will be tasked with establishing a control room with 24/7 radio communication or telephone links with safety offices and work sites. A senior GMRL official stated that safety is a top priority, both for workers and the public, during construction. “The contractor will collaborate with the district administration and traffic police to implement traffic diversions, ensuring smooth vehicle flow and preventing congestion during the build phase,” the official added.
The Gurugram Metro Phase 1 project is expected to significantly enhance the city's public transport system, providing a fast, efficient, and modern alternative to current commuting options.
