Bengaluru, India (Metro Rail Today): Rail Infrastructure Development Company (Karnataka) Limited (K-RIDE) has opened request for quote (technical bids) for the procurement of 264 air-conditioned coaches for 148.17 kilometres proposed Suburban Rail Project in Bengaluru on 16th May 2023.
As per information shared, a total of three firms have expressed thier interest in the tender to supply coaches for Bengaluru Suburban Rail project under the public-private partnership (PPP) mode. The name of bidders are as under:-
Now all bids have been sent for technical evaluation. “Only the bidders shortlisted in the RFQ will be allowed to participate in the stage. Based on the financial proposal, the lowest bidder will be awarded the contract to supply and maintain the trains and to deploy trained crew," said a K-RIDE official.
Tender for selection of entity for Design, Manufacturing, Supply, Commissioning, Operation, and Maintenance of Rolling Stock on PPP Model for Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project was issued in January this year.

The Bengaluru Suburban Rail will span a total network of 148.17 km with 57 stations planned across four corridors in six directions of Bengaluru, which includes Kengeri (Mysuru side), Chikkabanavara (Tumakuru side), Rajanukunte (Doddaballapura side), Devanahalli (Kolar side), Whitefield (Bangarapet side), and Heelalige. The estomated project cost of this project is Rs 15,767 crore.
